About the Event

“So many women I’ve talked to see menopause as an ending.  I’ve discovered that this is your moment to reinvent yourself after years of focusing on the needs of everyone else.” - Oprah Winfrey

The Power Pause

Does the idea of perimenopause and menopause fill you with dread, fear of the unknown, the idea of everything going downhill from there?  Would you like to reclaim your power and birth the best years of your life? According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Menopause is considered a woman’s Second Spring, a time for renewal, rebirth and the fulfillment of her dreams.  Let’s feel empowered as we reframe this stage of our lives in a positive light and learn lots of simple techniques from the Yoga and Ayurveda traditions that we can apply immediately to help manage this transition.

Here are some things you can expect in this workshop:

· Learn about the stages of menopause not just from a western medicine perspective but also from an eastern (Ayurvedic and TCM) perspective

· Recognize common symptoms associated with each stage, from perimenopause into post menopause

· Understand that menopause is much more than just biological symptoms, it  can also have psychological, social, and spiritual changes associated with it

· Learn simple techniques including diet and lifestyle practices, yoga asanas, breathing exercises, meditation, journaling etc to help manage symptoms

· (Re) discover and tap into your creativity and other amazing gifts of this midlife transition

· Connect with women going through a similar stage of their lives and support each other by sharing experiences and learn from each other

· Get an opportunity to reflect on your life and redirect where you want to focus your energy

· Feel empowered to navigate this transition with grace and a positive mindset

· Enjoy some healing pauses for tea, snack, open conversation & light lunch (provided)

We will be practicing a yoga sequence, breathing practices and meditation designed to help alleviate symptoms of menopause (no prior experience required).  Please wear comfortable clothing to practice yoga and bring a yoga mat, a journal/notebook and a pen.

Snacks will be provided.

"My hope is to educate, empower, and support women through their menopause journey so that they may reframe this stage of life to embrace and celebrate their Second Spring!" Asmita

Asmita Runge's Bio:

Registered Yoga Teacher, Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist

My menopause journey was a lonely one with very little guidance and support.  Motivated by my own challenges and the lack of knowledge available, led me to complete a Menopause Yoga Teacher Training.  Through it, I learned a holistic approach to women’s health that takes into account not just the biological symptoms but also any social, psychological and even spiritual changes associated with it.  My hope is to educate, empower, and support women through their menopause journey so that they may reframe this stage of life to embrace and celebrate their Second Spring!
