About the Event
Artist: Susan Card
“You gotta resurrect the deep pain within you and give it a place to live that’s not within your body. Let it live in art. Let it live in writing. Let it live in music. Let it be devoured by building brighter connections. Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in. Put it somewhere else.” ~ehimeora
Are you ready to shake of the sludge and ‘wake the dragon’ as we emerge into the Spring season? It’s also the Chinese Lunar Year of the Wood Dragon. This is an online opportunity to start your Sunday off right through guided movement ritual, inspiring invocation, and heart connection.
Too often we hold our grief, pain, stress, and struggle within our bodies. We commonly avoid it by doing something that will distract us from what is truly happening on the inside. The body never lies. Likewise, pain has a purpose.
Overtime, this will inevitably reveal itself if we don’t give it space to be expressed and composted. It can cause much ‘dis-ease’, daily inner turbulence, and a deep need for vital life force to re-emerge. I’ve learned through years of deep grief, that it can be processed in a curious playful way without always trying to make sense of it logically,........ lets groove!
Join me for Grief Groove for a live 60-minute class. There is an optional 30-minute discussion time following the class. It’s an opportunity to ‘intentionally’ release the heaviness of your struggle in a creative transformative way, to witness grief, and move toward more play, self-care, and meaning. This practice embraces movement, breath, and sound to release pain and find empowering ways to open the heart to connect to more love, grace, and gratitude.
You are invited to let go of what feels stuck, numb, stagnant, unbearable, confusing, or unspeakable in the comfort of your own home in a supportive liberating way. It creates space in our beings for more emotional liberation and joyful living.
* No experience is necessary. Everything can be done from a chair if desired.
What is a groove, anyway?
We often hear the slang meaning of ‘groove’ which is to enjoy oneself and take great pleasure. Like finding your ‘flow’ with something. It could also mean finding an established routine or habit. Groove is also considered a long, narrow cut or depression, especially one made to guide motion or receive a corresponding ridge. Add the ‘grief’ piece along with breath, sound, and movement and it becomes a beautiful recipe for healing in motion—“Grief Groove”
