About the Event

Throughout our journey of life, many of us are touched by adversity along with painful events such as loss, trauma, and grief. It could be a loss of a loved one, a job, friends, divorce, etc. The over arching feeling may be "broken".  It can be common to bypass painful feelings as we unravel the layers or get stuck as we lean into the integration of grief within our own life stories.  This experiential workshop utilizes a meditative process through a tangible medium to help develop resiliency and healing in the face of loss and grief. The Kintsugi Bowl is an ancient Japanese healing practice that serves to join back together that which was once broken, while showcasing the breaks and honoring the process. It embraces the understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is a philosophy centered on the acceptance…
