About the Event
Won’t you join us for a circle of gratitude? Bring a song, story, thought, poem, painting, instrument, whatever is your art form. It can be your creation or someone else's, as long as it means something to you. Or just bring yourself to listen and connect. It's all about honoring your presence, your voice, and the voices of others in the spirit of the moment. Arrive with an open mind knowing that whatever happens was meant to be. Soundfalls specializes in creating unique, unforgettable community moments!
"In our experience, the circle format is one of the most supportive settings you can find, one that has withstood the test of time." ~ Maren
We hope you can join us for this unique gathering! Once you arrive, you’ll be invited to walk the soft 50-yard wood chip path to the gathering place, a brand-new heated yurt under the canopy of cedars. Along the way, you’ll have a chance to connect with this nearly pristine area and leave all your worries behind!
Once inside, you’ll be invited to grab a hot tea and snack, mingle with other guests for the first fifteen minutes, then find your place in the circle for a welcome.
During the circle, we’ll seamlessly share from one person to the next for two or three rounds without the pressures of performance or judgment, applause or politics. You will have the option to hum or join-in on a simple group song or two.
If you're like most people today, the isolation of the past few years has left you out of practice expressing yourself, and we want to help you. Sharing in circle can be the steppingstone to larger gatherings, venues, and audiences, or can simply reacquaint you with yourself and the sound of your own voice in community.
Everyone is welcome, first 20 to register. You do not need to have had a previous vocal or Soundfalls experience. Those under 13 are welcome with a parent or guardian. No groups larger than four please.

Your host is Maren Van Nostrand. For over 25 years, Maren has taught music in Snoqualmie Valley in her home and in the schools, over 10 of these facilitating classes, workshops, circles and shows through Soundfalls. She’s super excited about some of her latest chances to learn from Bobby McFerrin’s song circles group, as well as The Circle Way with Peer Spirit. She's passionate about connecting people with each other and with their precious shared places and resources, for ultimately healthier and more sustainable community living.
Soundfalls is a web of dedicated contributors, volunteers and participants who work together to help communities discover, identify, and celebrate important shared historic places and open spaces, and the traditions that take place within them. The Soundfalls Experience taps into the infinite flow of all forms of our varied, yet common, wisdoms. Through collaborative and creative processes, we lift people up out of the categories they feel define them, allowing new relationships within community to form.
